Tommy’s, the Baby Charity

Tommy's migrated to The Raiser's Edge and needed to keep confidential Helpline call data separate from fundraising data while at the same time using The Raiser's Edge to track the names and addresses of callers to process their information requests. David Zeidman designed and implemented a new Helpline product that was not only a standalone application connecting to constituents and actions in The Raiser's Edge but also a screen from the constituent record in order to view call information.

David's solution was sophisticated yet easy to use and since it integrated so well it felt like just another part of The Raiser's Edge.

David's approach was very thorough and he presented us with different options at each step of the development process. Throughout the project we were kept informed of any issues or risks to the project ensuring we always knew how the project was progressing.  David provided an extremely high level of service and we highly recommend him.

David Zeidman has provided invaluable guidance and technical input in helping us to develop a detailed audit trail, consolidating code tables, key validation on fields such as email address, extending the use of mandatory fields and has advised on best use of the addressee/salutation fields.

He has built a sophisticated address validation process which will operate on the opening and closing of records, on import and with the use of batch.

David’s expertise allowed us to undertake a thorough review of Raisers Edge financial structures to ensure the long term use and information gained from Raisers Edge will be improved considerably.

He has customised a series of imports which has allowed us to automate the import of online registrations and automate the banking process for payslip and gift information for large events.

Help the Aged

Following the completion of a two year database migration and business process alignment project we were faced with significant clean-up tasks and clunky work-arounds to support business processes not facilitated by standard system functionality.

David Zeidman joined the Help the Aged Central Database team, eight weeks post-launch on recommendation from Blackbaud's technical division in the US.

Since his arrival David has accelerated clean-up activity using his software and programming skills, developing a number of plug-in utilities to automate many of our key work-arounds and improve data processing efficiency, including a new import utility that checks for HtA’s own business rules.

David's Raiser's Edge system and VBA programming knowledge has proved substantial and his consultative style is relaxed but efficient. His pragmatic input has been invaluable in discussions on system expansion and he has become a valued (if temporary) member of the team.

The Conservative Party

As part of an important project to track major business donors and prospects David Zeidman developed a custom data entry form for Raiser's Edge so that users could enter data from one screen tied to the constituent record. He developed a Crystal Report to show the constituent's profile which was opened from the form. These reports form the basis of the brief given to our canvassers before meeting these major donors and prospects.

At the same time David developed one off customizations to help clean up our database. The tasks that were automated enabled us to remove unwanted data using complex criteria without requiring manual intervention, saving us innumerable hours of work.

Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco

David Zeidman created and implemented a "Change Request" application for our organization. When a Raiser's Edge user wants to change biographical information they simply submit a request (via a macro) that plugs seamlessly into the constituent record. Then, our IS department approves the change and it goes live. Amazing! We are all very pleased with his work, which makes our requests more efficient, exact, and easier to submit.
