ID Lookup

Description

ID Lookup takes a list of people and attempts to look them up in Raiser's Edge. You can map various fields for looking up. These include first name or initial, last name, organisation name (it removes punctuation and words like "and", "inc.", etc and can check alias fields too), first line of address (it can recognise address type equivalents e.g. road, rd or rd.), zip code, email address. Just as with the RE import module you can map your file to the plug-in's standard naming convention and save this as a template for future use.

And now with the latest version you can filter by constituent code or constituent attribute and match on any number of characters from the first, last or organization name or the first address line.

The input and output can be in either Excel or CSV format. The output will give the number of matches found in RE, the unique constituent id and input id or a list of multiple constituent and input ids.

Installation

Download the zip file and unzip the contents to a known location. Run the Setup.exe file to install the program. The ID Lookup will appear in the list of plug-ins on RE. This version is tied to the sample database and cannot be run on another database. Please note that you will need to set up a SQL Server user that has rights to read from the database. The plugin will prompt you for the credentials or the DSN entry when it is run for the first time on a particular machine. Please see the re-decoded blog entry about installing IDLookup for more information. If you are uncertain what to enter then please speak to your database administrator or contact us.

The zipped file includes two Excel sample files that can be used to test with. Note that it is unlikely you will get multiple matches unless you add two similar records to the database.
