IDLookup takes a list of people and attempts to look them up in Raiser's
Edge. You can map various criteria sets for looking up. The plug-in will try to match against each criteria set until it finds either a unique match or the match with the fewest multiples. The criteria include title, gender, first name
or initial, last/surname, organization name (it can check alias fields too for last/surname and organization name),
first line of address (it recognises address type equivalents e.g. road,
rd or rd. which you can also define), post/zip code, email address, birth date and spouse. Just as with the
RE import module you can map your file to the plug-in's standard naming
convention and save this as a template for future use.
The input and output can be in either Excel or CSV format. The output will
give the number of matches found in RE, the unique constituent id and input
id or a list of multiple constituent and input ids.
From version 2.0.0, IDLookup has been completely rewritten to include criteria sets and a more powerful output format for multiples. IDLookup has also been customised depending on where you are in the world.
The upgrade sounds fantastic! I've already found IDLookup tremendously useful not only for identifying new records but also for exporting existing constituents and then using IDLookup to identify duplicates.

The latest version of IDLookup (version 2.1.2) now includes first name equivalents. Just as with address equivalents you can set up first names that are used interchangeably such as Robert, Rob, Bob, Bobby, etc. You can now match using Soundex and you can filter your results by a query of constituents so they will only appear in the match if they are also in the query.

The download includes instructions for use (or they can be downloaded separately) combined with an installation guide. Included in the install are a few sample files that work against the sample database.
